Reëls en Regulasies

Sweef Kommunikasie- en Dramastudio sal die ouers kontak 'n week voordat die skole open in Januarie. Die jaarrooster word dan gefinaliseer. Die klasse is 45 minute lank, eenmaal per week. Klasse begin gewoonlik 'n week nadat die skole geopen het.

Rules and Regulations

Sweef Communication and Drama Studio will contact the parents one week before the school opening in January. The annual roster will then be finalised. Classes are 45 minutes long, once a week. Classes usually commence one week after the schools reopened.

Dramakursus

In die dramastudio doen ons 'n verskeidenheid van dramastudies. Ons beperk die klasse se groottes tot drie kinders en sal in uitsonderlike gevalle tot vier toelaat. Ons poog om elke student individuele werk te laat doen om die impak op die kind te verhoog. Ons neem kort uittreksels uit dramas in die vorm van samesprake en monoloë sodat die studente hulle in iemand anders se skoene kan plaas om die lewe vanuit iemand anders se oogpunt te kan sien.

Studente neem deel aan groep- of enkelprogramme wat 'n tema ondersoek. Ons stel sulke programme saam uit verskillende genres:

  • Poësie ('n gedig),
  • Prosa ('n verhaal),
  • Monoloog (die uitbeelding van 'n enkelkarakter),
  • 'n Toneeltjie (die uitbeelding van 'n gebeurtenis as 'n groep karakters),
  • Gedramatiseerde prosa (die uitbeelding van 'n verhaal d.m.v beweging met 'n verteller)
  • Gedramatiseerde poësie (die uitbeelding van 'n gedig d.m.v bewegings) of karakteruitbeeldings (een speler doen 'n groep karakters sonder dat daar 'n verteller teenwoordig is).

Die Pierneefteater Kunstefees vind jaarliks plaas in April of Mei. Hierdie unieke geleentheid is ouer- en kindvriendelik. Ons professionele beoordeellaars is almal goedgekeur deur die Raad van Dramabeoordeellaars.

Ons deel die fees se afdelings so in dat die ouers slegs tussen 15 en 17 deelnemers se optredes hoef te kyk, en nie onnodig tyd hoef te mors nie. Ons bied dit slegs gedurende die dag aan sodat ouers en kinders nie in die aand deur die stad hoef te ry nie. Beoordeling is nie daar om fout te vind nie, maar eerder om die deelnemers wenke te gee om te verbeter.

Sweef Kommunikasie- en Dramastudio gee mimiekafrigting as deel van drama. Die deelnemers word blootstel aan nie-verbale kommunikasie om hulle kreatiewiteit te stimuleer. Vir laerskool studente is daar 'n spesiale Mimiekdag. Deelnemers word blootgestel aan onvoorbereide items soos improvosasie, verhaalkuns, en kreatiewe skryfwerk.

Ons dramastudente neem ook deel aan ons Kommunikasie afdeling se eksamens waar hulle voorbereide en onvoorbereide praatjies skryf en dit dan lewer.

Sedert 2017, gee Sweef Kommunikasie- en Dramastudio aan studente die geleentheid om hulle eie videoprogramme te skep en daarin te speel. Hulle leer dus hoe om ook toneel te speel voor 'n kamera.

Drama Course

We do a variety of drama studies in the Studio. The classes never have more than three children, except for one or two groups with four children. We try to do individual work with each learner to impact each child. We use short excerpts from dramas in monologues or dialogues to help the students place themselves in another person's shoes and view life from a fresh perspective.

Children participate in groups or as individuals where they investigate a theme. These programs consist of various genres:

  • Poetry (a poem), 
  • Prose (a story), 
  • Monologue (depiction of a single character), 
  • A play (a group of characters depicting an event), 
  • Dramatised prose (the depiction of a story using movement and a storyteller), 
  • Dramatised poetry (the depiction of a poem through motions) or character depictions (one actor doing a group of characters without a storyteller.)

The annual Pierneef Theatre Arts Festival is in April or May - a unique event that is parent and child friendly. Our professional judges are all approved by the Board of Drama Judges.

We divide the festival into smaller sections so that parents only have to watch the performances of 15 to 17 participants. We try not to waste anyone's time. It takes place only during the daytime so that parents and participants do not have to travel through the city at night. The judging is not to find fault but to give participants tips on how to improve their performances.

Sweef Communication and Drama Studio also offer mime training to students. We teach participants to use non-verbal communication to stimulate creativity. We have a Mime Day for primary school students where we expose them to unprepared items such as improvisation, story art and creative writing.

Our drama students also participate in the Communication Department's exams, where they write and perform prepared and unprepared speeches.

Since 2017, Sweef Communication and Drama Studio have allowed students to create and act in their own video programs to teach them how to perform in front of the camera.

Kommunikasiekursus

Ons integreer die dramakursus met die kommunikasiekursus. Byvoorbeeld, wanneer ons mimiek doen, doen ons die kommunikasiekursus oor lyftaal, vertolkingswerk en integreer ons dit met die kursus oor emosies, kreatiewe denke, en integreer dit ook met kommunikasiewerk oor verhaalkuns. Ons doelwit is om waarde toe te voeg tot die dramakursus sodat ons kinders soveel moontlik oor die wêreld van kommunikasie weet. Drama help baie om spontane kommunikasie te bevorder omdat dit soveel inligting oor emosies en emosionele uitdrukking ontgin.

Communication Course

We integrate our drama course with the communication course. Drama stimulates spontaneous communication because it generates so much information about emotions and emotional expression. For instance, when we do a mime, we use the communication course's section about body language and interpretation and integrate it with emotions, creative thinking, and storytelling. The aim is to add value to the drama course and know about communication as much as possible.
